Welcome to the Nichola Sweeney Foundation.
The Sweeney family have decided to establish this foundation as a consequence of the horrendous murder of their only daughter Nichola, at Rochestown, Cork, on the 27th April 2002 just six months short of her 21st Birthday.

OBJECTS OF THE FOUNDATION
To serve as a contact point for the family and friends
of the victims of murder and to provide assistance
and advice in dealing with the aftermath thereof;

To campaign for a more acceptable form of justice
for the family and friends of the victims of murder
and to campaign for the purposes of securing a change
in the law so that;

(a)		a "life sentence" for murder means the murderer remains in custody for the duration of his/her life.

(b)		The family and friends of the victim of murder shall be consulted prior to any murderer being considered for release from custody.
